About Me
Aloha, I’m Melanie, and my journey into the world of holistic healing began 25 years ago when I fractured my spine along my back. That injury, which initially brought me great physical discomfort and pain, set me on a path I could never have imagined—one that would eventually lead me to discover the profound wisdom of plants, yoga, and Ayurveda.
At the time of my injury, I was struggling with the limitations that came with my fractured spine. The pain was overwhelming, and I was searching for something, anything that could offer me relief. That’s when my mother-in-law, sensing my struggle, recommended I try a yoga class. I decided to give it a go.
That first yoga class turned out to be a life-changing experience. It wasn’t just about physical movement; it was about connecting with something much deeper. In that class, I met my new mentor, a teacher who would guide me through not just yoga but a whole new way of living. I began to understand the true power of healing, not only through the body but also through the mind and spirit.
As I delved deeper into yoga, I soon discovered Ayurveda, the sister science to yoga. The ancient wisdom of Ayurveda taught me how to balance my body, mind, and spirit, relieving my ongoing pain and discomfort. This newfound knowledge was like a key that unlocked a world of healing possibilities, and I couldn’t stop learning.
What started as an attempt to manage the physical pain from my fracture grew into a lifelong passion for exploring holistic modalities.
From Ayurveda to macrobiotics, fasting, chanting, praying, plant medicine, all my extended travels and beyond, I began to study and practice anything that could help me understand the intricate connection between the body and the natural world.
After 25 years, I’ve dedicated my life to sharing these teachings with others so they, too, can find the balance, healing, and peace that I’ve discovered on my journey. The plants, the practices, and wisdom I’ve gained have transformed my life, and I am so excited to continue this journey with you.
